Md. Shams Mahmud serves as Head of International Affairs and UK Representative of DIHAN Foundation. Based in London, he leads international partnerships, strategic engagement, and global cooperation initiatives supporting vulnerable communities across Bangladesh.
He is a qualified Advocate licensed by the Bangladesh Bar Council and holds dual LL.M. degrees from Canterbury Christ Church University, United Kingdom, and the University of Asia Pacific, Bangladesh.
United Nations & International Experience
Shams currently serves as an Intern at the United Nations Commission on International Trade Law (UNCITRAL) under the United Nations Office at Vienna. His work focuses on international legal frameworks, policy development, and global cooperation.
As a formal United Nations Volunteer in Algeria, he contributed to Sustainable Development Goals awareness campaigns and initiatives promoting human rights, inclusion, and sustainable development.

Humanitarian Service
Throughout his career, Shams has worked extensively with Rohingya refugee communities in Cox’s Bazar, supporting legal aid, refugee rights awareness, and humanitarian advocacy.
Through Royal Voluntary Service London, he delivered support services to vulnerable and elderly populations throughout the United Kingdom.
During the COVID 19 pandemic, he organised free oxygen support initiatives and coordinated blood donation programmes in partnership with Quantum Foundation Bangladesh.
His humanitarian work has also included food assistance programmes, education support initiatives, legal aid projects, and community development activities benefiting poor and marginalised populations across Bangladesh.
